I typically only buy multi-packs of crisps to take to lunch. Having only a finite amount to eat makes portioning easy – no need for self-discipline and choosing when to stop! Multi-packs tend to be the most boring flavours, though. The common denominator that can be relied on to shift volume.
However, I could get a big bag of something flavourful and take the time to create smaller portioned bags the night before, or just determine to eat only the right amount and then put the bag away. Doing that I can enjoy a more varied flavour and better quality of crisp.
Sure, this seems just small potatoes, but discipline doesn’t mean merely spartan living and a lack of choice. It can be the tool that opens up a tastier experience.
Kindly, keep munching (until you should stop).
