Peaks, troughs, and trends

I’m in a trough. Deep in one, as it happens.

If I look closely and work hard at dismissing the noise though, I can just about see the trend line is actually going up. Doesn’t mean I magically feel better – I’m still deep in a trough. But it does seem a reason to keep going.

That said, the trend line, even if it’s clear and positive, isn’t steadfast motivation. At some point it will point south for almost everyone – life just isn’t that linear.

There are times you’ve got to dig deep. To keep going precisely when the trend isn’t as you’d like, because that’s what will turn things around.

Take the next step. And the next one. Turn it around.

Time isn’t waiting for motivation, nor can you.

Kindly, keep going.
