The complete picture, or a composite

Attending to a difficult situation today, I needed to pull together some fragmented perspectives to figure out what was really going on. I wanted to build a complete picture so that I could fairly assess the right course of action.

The same events were recalled differently by almost everyone. If the events were recalled the same, then the assumed intent was often different – even after examining it from a few angles with those folks.

Be open-minded, flexible, and work with the best intent. Mistakes will be made on occasion, so be prepared to fix them.

We have to accept a composite picture, and work from there as best we can, because it’s not a perfect world and humans are not perfectly rational. Someone tell the economists clinging to their theoretical models!

Kindly, keep going.
