I was firmly persuaded that once I had a personal laptop I’d make so much more progress on a few ideas I have.
A clean break between my work and my passion. I could sit anywhere and get on with things. There’d be no performance niggles to discourage me. Well I am loving the laptop, but I haven’t made as much progress as I hoped.
In the past I’ve nagged a friend for not having some of the right gear, bumping my gums about the inadequacy. We got the job done though, battling through obstacles and making do. Being determined and resourceful is more important than a full bag of tools.
If you’re waiting for things to be ‘just so’, ask yourself if you can just get on with it instead. If you’re driven enough, you can make progress with the tools you have. If not, better to look at your motivation than buy some new gear.
