Marking time

“Do you have anything to look forward to, anything that brightens your day at the moment”, the doctor asked me.

I do, on both counts – it just doesn’t often feel that way for quite long stretches of thinking.

Nought lasts so long as that which stretches on and on interminably in the mind, so you can’t just passively listen to those unhelpful thoughts. Sometimes challenging them makes little headway either.

Create new thoughts.

Do something.

Make time more distinct than the horizon of your unhelpful thinking.
