A black voice

I felt deeply conflicted about #blackouttuesday. I do wish to #amplifymelanatedvoices and I don’t think a black square on the grid does that adequately.

The beautiful man in this photo made me a friendship bracelet while his country was embroiled in civil war. In times since, I remember what he said when I asked how to keep going.

“We just make it better. We have to vote. We keep trying harder. Together.”

Words I’ve been led by.
