Chatting to a couple of friends about how to move forward positively, we discussed the helpfulness of folding paper.
The first step is to work out where you want to go, at least broadly. Write that at the top of the sheet. Next develop a clear picture of where you are and write that (succinctly) at the bottom of the sheet.
Now fold the piece of paper so there’s a line half-way between where you are and where you’re going. Describe that to yourself and think how to get there. Especially if stuck, fold again so there’s a ‘quarter’ line on the paper between the beginning and half-way. Describe that to yourself and think how to get there. Rinse and repeat until you can see clearly what steps you can take to reach the next fold.
