I’ve acknowledged that I can be very sensitive to feedback. I genuinely welcome suggestions for improvement, but feel strongly that how the message is delivered is important. Some people either don’t care how their message is received, don’t recognise the importance of that (which isn’t universal), or actively seek to an uncomfortable feeling alongside their message.
Right now I have a particular messenger in mind, but this point is much more broadly applicable.
If you know how something is going to be and you haven’t the ability to change that, directly or indirectly, there is no sense in railing against it. Your energy is best kept for making a difference. Don’t be deflated by a battle you can’t win – deal with what you must right now and work at changing the battlefield for tomorrow.
